What Is Empowerment Integration?

Empowerment Integration is the applied practice of using the Seven Exits Framework to enhance your clarity, emotional grounding, and capacity to guide others with integrity. It focuses on cultivating the inner qualities and practical skills needed to lead from alignment — whether you sit in a therapist chair, a classroom, a boardroom, or a community space.

The Seven Exits Institute recognizes that people come to this work from different backgrounds and professional goals. To honor those differences — and to ensure ethical integration of empowerment tools.

The program offers two distinct tracks: Mental Health and Leadership.

Mental Health

The Seven Exits Integration Certificate is designed for depth, clarity, and meaningful application. Participants receive:

• A complimentary copy of Seven Exits: Leave Behind What No Longer Serves You to ground the learning in the original framework.
• A small cohort experience (20 participants or fewer) to ensure genuine connection, rich dialogue, and individualized support.
• Eight required group video sessions, each building layered mastery of the Seven Exits Framework and its practical use with clients, teams, and systems.
• A stellar, practice-centered curriculum featuring reflection exercises, applied assignments, and integration activities you can use immediately in your professional practice.
• One-year access to a curated resource library, including worksheets, prompts, implementation tools, and additional materials that deepen your understanding and support ongoing application.

Founder of Seven Exits

Dr. Rosenna Bakari is the founder of the Seven Exits Framework. She is a psychologist, empowerment expert, and educator with more than 30 years of experience helping individuals reclaim their voice, clarity, and emotional freedom.

She began her academic journey at 17, earning a B.S. in Psychology from Cornell University. She completed her M.S. in Counselor Education at SUNY Brockport at age 22 and later earned her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado.

Her academic accomplishments are even more remarkable given an early misdiagnosis: after a childhood seizure at age 7, she was labeled “mildly retarded.” One year later, her teachers identified her as mentally gifted—a turning point that ignited her lifelong commitment to challenging limiting narratives and empowering others to rise beyond them.

A Life that Embodies Alignment and Empowerment

Dr. Bakari lives by the principles she teaches. She has:

  • Raised two children

  • Maintained a 34-year marriage

  • Earned a 4th-degree black belt

  • Completed her third marathon at age 62

  • Traveled to 35 countries

     

 

A Distinguished Career 

For more than 25 years, Dr. Bakari taught undergraduate and graduate psychology, published scholarly articles, and delivered dynamic talks that reached diverse audiences on radio, podcast, and in person.

Her work spans emotional wellness, leadership development, empowerment training, and the development of new models of non-clinical support rooted in human connection and personal agency. In 2000 she founded the Talking Trees, the first empowerment organization exclusively for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

Her life is proof that transformation is not a moment—it’s a lifelong practice.

Author of Seven Books on Healing, Clarity & Transformation

Her writing career began in 1996 with Self-Love: Developing and Maintaining Self-Esteem for the Black Woman. She has since authored seven books, including Tree Leaves, Original Sin, Too Much Love Is Not Enough, The Healing Journey, Three-Day Reset, and her latest, Seven Exits, the framework that now defines her most groundbreaking work.

Creative and Transformational Storyteller

Beyond academia, Dr. Bakari is a transformational spoken word artist, playwright, and blogger. Her performances and creative work use story, rhythm, and emotional truth to make empowerment accessible and unforgettable.

In 2018, she was named a Woman of Influence by the Colorado Springs Business Journal.
